Why FirstCare?

Their health plans were built in Texas. They’re a part of this community. So when they say FirstCare is member-focused, what they really mean is that they care. Because they’re your friends and neighbors, they’re going to work with you to help you stay healthy. They’ll connect you with their community’s best hospitals, doctors, and health services. They’ll give you a fair deal. And when you call FirstCare, you’re talking to a real person, right here — who can provide real answers, right away. Because caring comes first.

Individual & Family Plans

FirstCare offers a variety of quality plans through the Health Insurance Marketplace (also known as the “health insurance exchange.”) If you need help matching a plan to your health needs, they’re right here for you.

FirstCare Advantage Dual SNP (HMO SNP)

A health plan, with a Medicare contract, that is designed to meet the special needs of those who are eligible for both Medicare & Medicaid—serving Carson, Crosby, Deaf Smith, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Hutchinson, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Potter, Randall, Swisher, and Terry counties.

Medicaid & CHIP

FirstCare STAR is a Medicaid program designed for low-income families, children, and pregnant women; including doctor visits, prescriptions, and more. For those not eligible for Medicaid, but who can’t afford other insurance, they offer FirstCare CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program)—providing health coverage for children in low-income families.
