Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Development (IMED), Pune established by Bharati Vidyapeeth in 1978, is a well-known Business School in the Western part of India. The Government of India under section 3 of the UGC Act brought this Institute under the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune (India) w.e.f. 20th July 2000. IMED has been consistently ranked among the top Indian Business Schools in India.
IMED is laid out on sprawling four acres of land with ‘state-of-the-art’ infrastructural & instructional facilities. As a constituent of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University), Pune, IMED contributes in its own ways to the philosophy, vision, and mission of Bharati Vidyapeeth i.e. “Be a World-Class University and a Global Resource in Innovative University Education for Ever-better World” and “Social Transformation Through Dynamic Education” respectively.
The team led by Dr. Sachin S. Vernekar, Director IMED could achieve success under the able guidance of the founder Hon’ble Dr. Patangraoji Kadam, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Shivajiraoji Kadam, and Secretary Dr. Vishwajeet Kadam. At IMED, the students, faculty, and management, share team-oriented common goals that are intellectually stimulating.
Besides training young professionals to meet the challenges of globalization, we at IMED develop entrepreneurial skills in our students. Value addition lies at the core of our teaching curriculum and the syllabus is updated with the feedback from industry and is comparable with the curriculum of leading national and international level institutes to retain an edge in academics. IMED Infrastructure

Computer Labs (Information Resource Center):

The Computer center at IMED has state-of-art facilities. It is fully equipped with the latest software like SPSS, RATIONAL ROSE, and MATLAB. It is backed by Windows 2003 and Linux servers. It has more than 400 computers with the latest configuration. It has an internet connection with a speed of 72 MBPS (Leased Line). The LCD projectors and printers are also made available to the faculty members and the students.

Classrooms:

At IMED, we have spacious and well-ventilated classrooms equipped with modern gazettes like LCD projectors, Computers, and Wi-Fi internet connectivity. The seating arrangement for the student is quite comfortable. Some of the classrooms are equipped with a ‘Lecture-Capture’ facility for recording the lectures for disseminating knowledge over the internet.

Sports (Indoor /Outdoor):

IMED is not only known for its academic success but also for its high achievements in sports. We have created students in sports who are playing for India in various sports on International platforms. Sports like Volleyball, Basketball, running, long jump, high jump, and gymnastics are a few major attractions of IMED.

Seminar Hall:

The seminar hall at IMED is a Hi-Tech one of its kind, having an LCD projector, Computer, Sound Systems, and Lecture Capture unit. The arrangement is specially made for video conferencing and webinar broadcasting. It is fully air-conditioned with a seating capacity of more than 150 seats.

Programs at IMED

Ph.D. –

IMED is a recognized Research Center for the Ph.D. Program of Bharati Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University). In all, there are 18 research guides (Management and Computer Applications) at the research center. The Ph.D. Program is conducted by strictly adhering to the rules and regulations laid down by the UGC regarding the conduct of Ph.D. Program. Till now, more than 85 research scholars have been awarded their Ph.D. and almost 100 students are working for their doctorate degree under the different research guides.

Admission Process to Ph.D

The admissions to the Ph.D. Program are through the centralized admission procedure of the University. Advertisements are issued regarding the Ph.D. Entrance Test through leading national newspapers and on the website of the University. Entrance tests and interviews are held to draw a final merit list of the candidates selected for the Programme. The entire procedure is centralized and candidates are allotted to research guides through a committee appointed by the University, as per the vacancies indicated and the area of specialization of the candidates.

MBA(Gen) –

To facilitate the creation of Dynamic and Effective Business Professionals, Managers, and Entrepreneurs who can transform the corporate sector that caters to the needs of the society and contribute towards Nation building.

MBA (HR) –

The Program aims to improve the Business Decision Making Capabilities of upcoming managers by enhancing their HR and Analytical Skills.

The main objectives of this course are to prepare the youth to take up positions as system analysts, system engineers, software engineers, programmers, and of course as versatile teachers in any area of computer applications.

The main objectives of the BCA Program are to prepare the youth to take up positions as system analysts, system engineers, software engineers, programmers, and of course as versatile teachers in any area of computer applications.
